Five Fun Ways to Motivate You to Move Your Body

1.     Dance. Actually move your body to music. This can be simple as bobbing your head in the car to the radio on the way to your workout to putting on your headphones and doing a few dance moves. Dare to be silly. And if you are so inclined, perhaps dance could be your workout!

2.     Go on a shopping spree. That is, a shopping spree for new workout clothes. The market for cute and comfy workout clothes has exploded in the last few years. So many choices now and for every body type. Splurge a little. You deserve it! When you look good, you feel good. And now that you have those new clothes, you have NO excuse to not work out!

3.     Make it a date. A date with your spouse or a friend or a family member. Instead of going out to eat or watching a movie, make a date to go on a walk or to get to a class together at the gym. Exercising with another person not only keeps you accountable, but also is fun, too!

4.     Take an active vacation. Instead of lounging on the beach, take a surfing vacation! Or go skiing. Hike Macchu Picchu. Go on a kayaking vacation. There’s nothing better than getting your body moving and experiencing a beautiful place. And when you return home from vacation, keep up the activity!

5.     Make it a game. Have a competition with yourself. See how far you can push yourself.
